Finding Your Voice
Through Breath

Imagine if the way you breathe shaped not just your voice,
but the way you feel, speak, and show up in the world.
GET STARTED

Do you ever catch yourself thinking,
'I'm not sure I'm breathing the right way'?

Maybe you've noticed that your voice feels tight or strained. Or that stress creeps into your words when you're speaking. You’re not alone—I hear this all the time from clients in voice therapy and psychotherapy.

Our breath is foundational to our voice, our energy and even our emotions. But most of us go through life without really thinking about how we breathe.

What if you could change that?

In this SOMA Breath workshop, we’ll explore how breath connects to both our physical voice and our deeper sense of self. It actually isn’t about doing it "right". It’s about exploring what’s possible.

And the best part? The journey is supported by incredible music that guides you into a deeply immersive experience.

Experience firsthand how small shifts in the way we breathe can create more ease, clarity, and confidence.

What You'll Gain

By the end of this workshop, you might find yourself:

  • Noticing how your breath affects your emotional state and vocal clarity.

  • Feeling more at ease with your voice—without the self-judgment.

  • Exploring practical breathing techniques that fit naturally into your daily life.

Why This Workshop Is Unique

Most breath work focuses on relaxation or energy.

But what if your breath was the key to your voice—both the one you speak with and the one that guides you from within?

As a SOMA Breath instructor, voice therapist, and psychotherapist, I’ve seen how conscious breathing changes not just how we sound, but how we feel. When breath flows freely, so does our expression, confidence, and connection.

This workshop is designed to help you experience that for yourself, in a way that feels natural, easy, and even fun. And the best part? These techniques aren’t just for the session—you can integrate them into your daily life for ongoing benefits.

Meet Your Guide:
Gwen Merrick

Hi, I’m Gwen, a SOMA breath instructor, psychotherapist, and voice therapist.

I didn’t start practicing breath work because I had extra time—I started because I needed it. Breath work brought clarity, calm, and confidence into my life in ways I never expected. And once I experienced that, I knew I had to share it.

Combining breath work with my background in voice and therapy, I’m discovering that conscious breath may be the ultimate tool for supporting both our physical and emotional voices. Whether you’re here to manage stress, build resilience, or strengthen your voice, you’re in the right place.

Breath work is simple, powerful, and extraordinary—and I can’t wait for you to experience it.

What others say about breath sessions with Gwen

"Wow. Really powerful. I’m not a meditator, and I really enjoyed this."

"Finally understood what all the excitement about breathwork is about."

What We'll Cover

Here’s what we’ll dive into together:

  • Movement to Release and Reset: Because tension in the body shows up in the voice. Let’s wake up both sides of the brain and make space for breath to flow.

  • The Power of “Aum”: Why do so many ancient practices use sound? You’ll experience how chanting (mic can be off!) connects your breath, voice, and nervous system.

  • Diaphragmatic Breathing: The simple but often overlooked way to breathe in a way that supports your voice.

  • Rhythmic Breathing for Clarity: A breathing flow that helps you feel more grounded, focused, and attuned to your physical and emotional voice.
